In Peck
Small Place, Short Road
Peck is a small community south of Wichita in Sedgwick County, strung along the K-15 corridor between Haysville and Mulvane — which puts it about as close to our shop as anywhere we go that is not Haysville itself.
Properties out here run to acreages more than town lots, and the work follows from that: houses on their own systems, detached shops and barns that need conditioning of their own, and equipment that has often been kept running well past the point a suburban homeowner would have replaced it. That last part is not a criticism. Getting more life out of older equipment is a legitimate goal and one we work to.
Older equipment that has been maintained can have years left in it. Age alone is not a diagnosis.
From our own work
The Part Nobody Looks At
A furnace sized correctly for the house still cannot deliver its output through returns that are too small or metal that has rusted through. Replacing a run means measuring what the system needs and fabricating to that.

Inside a floor duct on an older system, corroded through at the opening.
The replacement plenum, fabricated to fit rather than adapted to.
Sheet metal laid out and cut on site, beside the truck.
Duct replacement is its own category in the gallery.
Peck questions
What Peck Callers Ask Us
- Is Peck too small for you to bother with?
- No. It is one of the closest communities to the shop in Haysville, it is on the published service area, and there is no minimum job size.
- Our furnace is old but it still runs. Should we replace it?
- Not automatically. A furnace that has been maintained can have a good deal of life left, and replacing working equipment because of its birthday is money spent early. What matters is the condition of the heat exchanger, the combustion, and whether the repairs it needs are starting to stack up. We look at those and tell you which side of the line you are on.
- Can you condition a barn or a detached shop?
- Yes. Ductless equipment is the usual answer where there is no practical duct route, and in-floor heat is worth considering if a slab is still going in. Both are ordinary work.
