Service, maintenance and installation

What We Do

Three kinds of work, and one furnace usually needs all three of them over its life. Whichever one you are here for, the visit starts the same way.

  • Repair and diagnostics

We diagnose first and explain what we find. That includes the parts of a furnace nobody sees from the hallway — the heat exchanger, the igniter and flame sensor, the inducer, the blower, and the safety controls that shut a system down before it can hurt anything.

  • Maintenance

Pre-season service that catches problems while it's still convenient to fix them. Burners and flame, blower and filter, venting, gas pressure and the safety controls — checked before the first hard freeze puts the whole thing under load rather than after.

  • Replacement and new installation

Gas furnace and coil installations are core work for us. We size the replacement to the house rather than to whatever came out of it, and every new system includes complimentary manufacturer warranty registration.

What a replacement involves

The Furnace Is Half the Job

Setting the new cabinet is the visible part of a changeout. What decides whether it performs is everything it connects to — the plenum it discharges into, the return that feeds it, the gas line, and the flue that carries combustion gases back out of the building.

Those get fabricated to suit the equipment going in rather than reconnected as they were found. A furnace sized correctly for the house still cannot do its job through connections built for the one before it.

What you're seeing

When to Call Us

Furnaces rarely fail without showing something first. These are the ones homeowners describe to us most often.

Any of these is worth a call. What it turns out to be is a question for the diagnosis, not for a list — we'll tell you what we find before anything gets replaced.

  • No heat at all.
  • Heat that starts, then quits a few minutes later.
  • Short cycling — the burner running in quick bursts instead of steady cycles.
  • Some rooms that never catch up while the rest of the house is fine.
  • A furnace that lights but won't stay lit.
  • A gas bill that climbed without the weather explaining it.

From our own work

No Two Furnace Rooms Are Alike

A furnace goes where the house has room for it, and the room decides as much about the installation as the equipment does — the path the flue takes, where the return comes in, and how much space is left to work in when it next needs a service.

  • Goodman gas furnace installed in a utility room with new ductwork and filter cabinet
  • Goodman furnace installed in a narrow hallway closet between wood-paneled doors
  • Rheem furnace installed with new flue pipe and condensate lines in a utility area

Three gas furnaces, three different plans to get one in the door. That part of a replacement is not the equipment, and it is the part a quote written off a model number cannot see.

Repair or replace

The Straight Shot on Furnace Replacement

Furnace replacement is a real expense, and it's the easiest place in this trade for a customer to get pushed. We won't do that.

You'll get a clear account of what failed, whether it can be repaired, what the repair costs against the replacement, and what we'd expect from your existing unit if you keep it.

If your furnace has years left, we'll say so.

From the project gallery

Keeping The Oldies Alive

Some of our favorite work is keeping older equipment running for people who aren't ready to replace it. It's a category in our project gallery for a reason.

Older units are often simpler than the things that replaced them, and plenty of the parts are still on the shelf. Whether yours is worth keeping comes down to what failed and what it costs to put right — the same question as any other call, answered the same way.

I started using Jesse for my heat air for our investment properties. It has been nothing but positive reviews from my tenants! He has already corrected issues that would have caused problems in the summer heat AND set blower settings on some units that were never done correctly when the unit was installed! His communication has been great, always telling me what the issue is and cost to repair.

I had a great experience with Arrow Heating & Air! Jesse arrived right on time, quickly diagnosed the issue, and had everything fixed efficiently. The problem turned out to be a bad capacitor, and fortunately, he had the replacement part stocked on his truck, so I was back up and running in no time. What really stood out was that Jesse went above and beyond by taking the time to clean off my outdoor air conditioning unit to help it continue running efficiently. He was knowledgeable, capable, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work.I highly recommend Arrow Heating & Air for anyone needing fast, reliable, and high-quality HVAC service!
